اهتمامات البروفيسور وانغ هي مجال خصوصية المستخدم التفاضلية، والتعلم الآلي الذي يحافظ على الخصوصية، واستخراج البيانات للحفاظ على الخصوصية، والهجمات على الخصوصية في تقنية التعلم الآلي، والتعلم الآلي الجدير بالثقة، ونظرية التعلم الإحصائي، كما أنه مهتم بقضايا الرعاية الصحية الرقمية والتصوير الطبي الحيوي والمعلوماتية الحيوية.
