KAUST hosts double lecture event on chemistry and women in science

KAUST is set to organize a double lecture event featuring the International Symposium on Porous Organic Polymers (POPs) and the KAUST Workshop for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). Distinguished speakers from various parts of the world, representing diverse cultures and communities, will be part of the program. 

The event will focus on porous materials and will showcase the accomplishments of women in science and engineering, highlighting their groundbreaking research to inspire the next generation of female scientists.  

This year’s speakers are elite professors from different parts of the world, including Professor of Computational Materials Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College, Kim Jelfs, Professor of Chemistry and Canada Research Chair in DNA Nanoscience, McGill University, Hanadi Sleiman, Assistant Professor, Physical Chemistry and Computational Modelling, Sorbonne University, Rocio Semino, and Associate Professor and Chair of Solid State and Materials Chemistry, University of Augsburg, Hana Bunzen alongside KAUST’s Acting Manager of Marketing and Partnerships for Strategic National Advancement, Sara Al Otaibi, and Head, KAUST Smart Health Initiative, Fadwa Attiga. 

Princess Mashael bint Saud Al-Shalan, founding partner of AEON Strategy will also speak at the event. 

Committing to making global connections, all lectures will be presented in person and simultaneously live-streamed, transcending geographical barriers and allowing the global academic community to actively participate. This unique event will also facilitate enriching social interactions and a poster session, exchanging ideas, and fostering lasting connections among participants.
