King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and King Saud University (KSU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation in education, research, training, and professional development.
The agreement underscores both universities’ commitment to advancing academic and technological progress and preparing a qualified generation capable of leading Saudi Arabia’s future.
The signing ceremony took place at the KAUST campus in Thuwal. Professor Ali M. Masmali, Acting President, representing King Saud University, while KAUST was represented by its President, Professor Sir Edward Byrne AC.
The MoU focuses on launching and organizing joint training programs, workshops, and scientific conferences, and sharing access to advanced laboratories and research facilities. It also highlights collaboration in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and innovation and entrepreneurship through joint projects, business incubators, and accelerators. The partnership further aims to strengthen intellectual property management and commercialize research outputs into impactful industrial applications.
“This agreement embodies KAUST’s vision to build strong partnerships with academic institutions across the Kingdom, strengthening our ability to translate scientific discovery into economic and social impact that supports Saudi Vision 2030,” Professor Sir Edward Byrne said. “Our collaboration with King Saud University will open new horizons for innovation and create promising opportunities to develop national talent.”
Professor Ali M.
