Ammar Aboalsaud


Ammar Aboalsaud is a Chemical Engineering Ph.D. Student in the Physical Science and Engineering (PSE) Division at KAUST. His work is geared towards the synthesis and characterization of various zeolite membranes at the Advanced Membranes & Porous Materials (AMPM) Center.
Prior to joining KAUST, Ammar held different positions in various fields, which gave him experience in multiple areas. Most notably was his work as an Engineering Instructor at the University of Houston's Cullen College of Engineering after completing both his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees at the same university.
Ammar is the current GSC President. His position entails leading the team and regularly meeting with KAUST's leadership to ensure that the voice of every graduate student is heard.
As a part of his mission to empower the graduate student body, Ammar integrated himself as the students' representative in the Coronavirus Taskforce (CTF) and the KAUST COVID-19 Crisis Center (KC3) Education Domain Sub-Group (EDG), as well as other groups such as the KAUST Master Planning Working Group and the KAUST Enrichment Office.
As the students' representative in those groups, Ammar meets on a regular basis with KAUST leadership including the Provost, Vice Presidents and Deans.
