Zainab Homoud


Zainab Homoud is a Bioengineering Master Student in the Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering (BESE) Division at KAUST. Her research is focused on the field of Bioinformatics and Machine Learning. Her thesis topic is on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Brain Functional Asymmetry where she works on it with the Biostatistics Research Group at KAUST.
Zainab held different leadership roles before coming to KAUST and she would like to expand and use her experience to benefit the KAUST community. She worked as an Ambassador for the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement at North Carolina State University. She also has been chosen as a Teacher Assistance to lead the teams for Biomedical Engineering Junior and Sophomore Design class at North Carolina State University. In addition, Zainab has obtained an advanced leadership certificate from the Office of Professional Development at KAUST.
As a Secretary for the Graduate Student Council (GSC), she plays an important role in arranging and announcing meetings to the GSC members, documenting the meetings, and booking rooms for meetings and events. Also, she handles the emails sent to the GSC and tracks the GSC's achievements.
