Whistleblowing and Reporting Wrongdoing



What is a whistleblower?

A whistleblower is someone who reports a genuine and legitimate concern, suspected wrongdoing, fraudulent activity or corruption.  


Who is protected?

KAUST is fully committed to taking any and all measures necessary to protect whistleblowers who have, in good faith, made reports through the whistleblowing platform, against any retaliation from peers, managers and/or other involved parties.


Who to tell?

Suspected wrongdoings and other concerns or complaints can be reported in various ways, including:  

  • To your Direct Managers
  • To the Designated Department depending on the nature of the wrongdoing as following:

  • In case the Whistleblower deems necessary to remain anonymous, they shall report the suspected wrongdoing through the Whistleblowing Platform (EthicsPoint)

Reporting Anonymously or Confidentially

  • All individuals involved in the Whistleblowing process shall maintain strict confidentiality, regarding any disclosures and information made available to them during the course of an investigation.
  • The University shall protect the anonymity of the whistleblower with utmost earnestness.
