تركز اهتمامات البروفيسور عاطف شميم البحثية على تطبيقات تشمل شبكة المناطق الشخصية ورادارات المركبات وأجهزة الاحساس التي يمكن إرتداؤها أو زرعها في الجسم ، والطاقة بدون أسلاك ،والطاقة المتجددة.
