KAUST SCHOLAR AWARD
This award was conferred on exemplary doctoral students during the University’s initial development phase. KAUST is not accepting additional nominations for the KAUST Scholar Award at this time. For information about how to attend KAUST, please visit the Admission to KAUST page.
The KAUST Scholar Awards were conferred on 17 students to accomplish two important objectives:
- To support their continued research in fields of principal interest to KAUST.
- To contribute to the graduate, educational global enterprise linked to KAUST during this important founding period.
These KAUST Scholars represent a new age of visionary researchers— those who will have a major impact on the future of science, engineering, and information technology, and who will be a driving force for global innovation.
These scholars embody the highest level of academic and leadership potential, and will represent the aspirations and values of KAUST at their home institutions around the world. The Award will enable recipients to continue their research for up to four years, and will include their participation as “ambassadors” for the University at global research and technical conferences and workshops.
In addition, KAUST Scholars will be invited to participate in joint research projects on the KAUST campus and take active roles in mentoring KAUST Discovery Scholarship recipients at joint enrichment workshops focused on leadership and academic excellence.
The University may offer its KAUST Scholars research and other postdoctoral opportunities on campus upon completion of their doctoral degrees, thereby creating opportunities for these exceptional, innovative researchers and professors to share in advancing the long-term vision and goals of KAUST.
