Introduction
Research Centers are the primary research units at KAUST. The Centers are strategic and focus on topical areas that drive research projects toward achieving their goals.
The KAUST Research Centers will focus on:
- Catalysis
- Computational Bioscience
- Geometric Modeling and Scientific Visualization
- Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials
- Plant Stress Genomics
- Solar Photovoltaic Engineering
- Red Sea
- Clean Combustion
- Water Desalination and Reuse
A typical Research Center at KAUST consists of 8-10 members of faculty, 40-50 graduate students, research scientists and engineers, postdoctoral researchers, visiting researchers (including resident and visiting scientists from industry) and administrative and technical staff.
Special Centers and Field Stations
The Center for Marine and Oceanic Research jointly with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
The KAUST Museum
The KAUST Museum will curate special collections of digital and physical artifacts that highlight the role Islam has played in scientific innovation and discovery.
