KAUST Professor, Husam Alshareef guest edits MRS Bulletin issue on Nanoelectronics
Husam Alshareef, Associate Professor of Material Science and Engineering was the guest editor of the February issue of the Materials Research Society Bulletin (MRS Bulletin).
The February issue, "Contact Materials for Nanonelectronics", for which Dr. Alshareef was lead editor, addresses the topic of contact materials for Nanoelectronic devices and their increasingly important role as device sizes shrink into the deep nanoscale.
Contributed articles to this month's issue came from Stanford University, Georgia Tech, UT Dallas, KAUST (Professor Muhmmad Mustafa Hussain), SEAMTECH, Texas Instruments and Advanced Microdevices (AMD). The issue focused on gate contact materials for Si-based devices, alternate channel semiconductor materials (Ge and III-V), nanodevices and emerging electronics.
The other guest editors for February's issue were Dr. Prashant Majhi, Chief Technologist, INTEL Assignee to SEMATECH and Professor Manuel Quevedo, Associate Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas.
"I am proud to represent KAUST as guest editor on this latest issue of the MRS Bulletin dealing with Nanodevices & other Emerging Electronics. I hope the visibility can help us attract more students and scientists to KAUST." said Dr. Alshareef.
MRS Bulletin is one of the most widely recognized and highly respected publications in advanced materials research. Published monthly, it features technical theme topics that capture the latest material research. MRS Bulletin is written by leading experts within the field of Materials Research.
