There is no shortage of good ideas from talented people for innovative products and services. The problem is that there is little support to help innovators turn their ideas into viable businesses. And without financial and practical support, most entrepreneurs are unable to make the leap.

The KAUST Seed Fund is a catalyst for moving technological innovation from the lab to the marketplace, and for helping dreamers become entrepreneurs. The funding – up to $200,000 over 24 months - helps bridge the initial gap at the lab/patent stage of development, and provides support to entrepreneurs when they need it most to increase the likelihood of success.

At its core, the Seed Fund is a product development funding mechanism that moves promising ideas forward toward commercialization and ultimately, formation into new businesses. It aims to provide KAUST with a way to turn science projects into companies, as well as highlight successful models that may be replicated nationwide.
