PROVOST’S OFFICE

The Provost is KAUST’s chief academic officer and is responsible for setting the academic vision and promoting the academic quality of the University. The Provost works with two principal deputies, the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Assistant Provost for Student Affairs, to foster collaboration across the University and manage policies and practices that affect academic life.

The Provost’s team sets academic policies, including curricula and degree-granting programs, manages academic budgetary priorities, ensures the quality of the student body through recruitment and retention, and maintains educational excellence in teaching and study. The Provost is also responsible for the recruitment, hiring, retention, and performance of faculty and administrators. Working closely with the Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance and other members of the senior leadership team, the Provost’s Office allocates resources among KAUST's Academic Divisions and Research Centers.
