Mr. William F. Stamm

Mr. William F. Stamm has been appointed general counsel and secretary for KAUST and its Board of Trustees. His appointment, effective July 1, 2008, followed a long and distinguished career with the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco).
He joined Saudi Aramco in January 1983 and worked in various capacities for that company and its affiliates before retiring as an associate general counsel in June 2004. Following his retirement, Mr. Stamm engaged in the private practice of law in in the United States, representing a number of clients from Saudi Arabia, including KAUST, since April 2007.
Mr. Stamm is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Texas, Ohio and Florida, all in the United States. He is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Seventh Judicial District Court of Colorado and the Colorado Bar Association. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering in 1970 and was awarded his juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law in 1978. He attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School in 2002.
