To celebrate the Inauguration of the Red Sea Research Center (RSRC), the University is hosting a three-day symposium that will bring together researchers from around the world who are working to understand this unique environment.
The Symposium will emphasize two aspects - results from recent expeditions, field and modeling work in the Red Sea and potential application of research results on similar systems.
The Symposium will feature talks from KAUST faculty and researchers, as well as guest speakers from the University of Oxford, the University of Athens, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution , University of Bergen, James Cook University and the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology...
- Topics covered at the Inaugural RSRC Symposium will include:
- Marine Microbiology
- Coastal Oceanography Circulation and Water Masses .
- Marine Atmospheric Circulation and Air-Sea Interaction Modeling .
- Data Assimilation Coral Reef Ecology .
- Coral Genomics, Fish Connectivity and Pelagic Ecology.
- The Red Sea Three-Dimensional Circulation and Exchange with the Indian Ocean .
- Ocean Dynamics: Observations, Modeling and Assimilation.
The University is looking forward to enthusiastic discussion of these results, future opportunities and collaborations. The Symposium will run from Saturday April 9 through to Monday April 11.
