Insurance
Excellent Offerings to Faculty and Staff
KAUST's comprehensive benefits package includes life insurance for eligible faculty and staff members because the University recognizes the need to protect relatives and survivors. In addition to the basic coverage provided at no cost to employees, faculty and staff members can purchase supplemental life and accident insurance, further enhancing their level of protection.
Life Insurance
All faculty and staff members are eligible for life insurance coverage. Two options are available, with amounts based on the employee's annual base pay.
Basic Life -provides two times the annual base pay in case of death while employed by the University. KAUST pays to cover all of its faculty and staff.
Optional Supplemental Life Insurance - plan members also can purchase additional insurance, ranging from one to five times their annual base pay, up to a maximum of $1 million. Employees are responsible for paying the premiums associated with this coverage.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment
The plan provides eligible faculty and staff with the option to purchase Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage for themselves and eligible family members.
Plan members can purchase up to $500,000 or 10 times their annual base pay, whichever is greater, up to a maximum of $1 million.
