The 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption injected in the lower stratosphere about 17 million tons of SO2 that was oxidized to SO4 and produced a global sulfate aerosol layer that reflected solar radiation and cooled the Earth by about 0.5 Kelvin. Micro catapults built as part of the Introduction to Microelectromechanical Systems course. The Materials Science and Engineering group investigates solvent vapor annealing of molecular semiconductor thin films as a low-cost, room-temperature post-processing alternative to thermal annealing of materials.
