Research Interests

Professor Atif Shamim's research is focused on applications like personal area network, automotive radars, wearable and implantable wireless sensors, wireless powering and renewable energy. The following specific research projects are being pursued.

  • Monolithically integrated RF System-on-Chip (SoC) Design (CMOS, MEMS and GaN platforms)
  • On-Chip Antenna Integration, miniaturization and characterization techniques
  • 3D System-on-Package (SoP) Design (LTCC, LCP and IPD)
  • Ferrite LTCC based tunable and reconfigurable circuits carbon-based nano radio design (Carbon nano-tube and Graphene mediums)
  • RFID and RF power scavenging
  • Energy harvesting through ambient resources (solar, infrared, EM), integrated micro/nano systems for water purification, desalination and energy sustainability
  • Printed and flexible electronics
  • Wireless sensors for wearable and implantable biomedical applications
  • Fractional order circuit elements based matching networks
