Nikolaos Hadjichristidis
Professor, Chemical Science
D.Sc. University of Athens, 1979.
Ph.D. University of Liège, Belgium, 1971.
B.S. University of Athens, Department of Chemistry, Greece, 1966.
Research Interests
The research of Professor Hadjichristidis focuses on the synthesis of model including the narrow molecular weight, structural and compositional dispersity, homopolymers, copolymers and hybrids. His research focuses on polymers/polypeptides, polymers/CNT with well-defined complex macromolecular architectures (star, comb, cyclic, dendritic ) by using anionic polymerization high vacuum techniques, as well as combinations of different polymerization methodologies (AP, ATRP, TEMPO, catalytic,).
These polymeric materials are very important and ideal for:
- Checking theories . For example, de Gennes tube theory and hierarchical motion in branched polymers.
- Understanding and improving the properties of industrial polymers. For example, LDPE and polypropylene
- High-tech applications (nanolithography, high temperature membanes and drug delivery.
