The KAUST Farmers Market

The KAUST Farmers Market, part of the sustainable food movement, will feature locally sourced produce, nuts, seeds, honey, and fresh fish for purchase. Sponsored by the KAUST Food and Service Department and the Winter Enrichment Program, this three-day event allows community members to connect with farmers in Saudi Arabia to learn more about the production of food locally and green agricultural practices. Don’t forget to stop by for BBQ and delicious juices by Coastline!

Buy from the market and enjoy fresh fare for dinner later that night.

Experience Asir

 

 

 

Experience the amazing natural beauty of Asir landscapes and painted mural art. This program starts with a lecture by Professor Mashary A. Al- Naim of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage on the architectural heritage the Asir region on Wednesday, January 20 at 5:00 p.m. at the University Library.

Enjoy a photography exhibition entitled "The Traditional Architecture of the Asir Highlands” featuring work from the Archaeology Student Group, the photography self-directed group and community members.

Artist Magali Jeantelot will share with the KAUST community the techniques used to create complex patterns commonly found in Asir art during her workshop on Tuesday, January 19. A final exhibit of student work and her own personal paintings from her collection, “Asir - Spirit of Painting Houses” will be available for you to bring home on Wednesday.

See how Asir design has influenced Saudi fashion designer Yahya Al-Bishri in his most recent fashion show, which debuted at "La Mode A Beyrouth" 2015-2016 Fashion Week. While you are there, make sure to catch a glimpse of the dress Yahya designed for Princess Diana

Final WEP Gala -- Live performance and Awards

 

 

 

Don’t miss our Final Gala as we celebrate the end of the seventh annual Winter Enrichment Program, featuring an evening of live performance and awards.

WEP Committee Chair Mark Tester will kick off the evening by recognizing the effort of everyone involved in the successful production of this two-week program, supported by our gracious sponsors and volunteers. The winners of the KAUST Research Poster Competition, International Undergraduate Poster Competition, Science Fair and Saudi Art Competition will be announced.

The evening will conclude with a very special performance of "Beautiful Mongolia" by Khusugtun, an award-winning group inspired by their nomadic Mongolian ancestry and historic civilization. A reception will follow featuring a unique menu influenced by Mongolian cuisine.

The event is sponsored by Office of Enrichment in collaboration with Office of the Arts.
