About Al-Janadriyah Heritage and Cultural Festival
“Al Janadriyah” is a yearly cultural festival held in the Riyadh City district of the kingdom’s capital city. The festival is organized by the National Guards under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.
‘Al Janadriyah is a celebration of all the aspects of the culture of Saudi Arabia including art, theater, heritage and history.
The festival highlights the various aspects of folklore, including exhibits of carpet weaving, pottery and woodcarving from the different regions of the kingdom. Also, there are many other activities taking place during the two week festival.
‘Al Janadriyah’ is divided into several areas / pavilions which represent the different regions of the kingdom as well as representing the private and public sectors in the kingdom.
The Festival starts with the Grand Annual Camel Race in which as many as 600 participants take part. The expected number of visitors this year is approxiamately 500,000; expected number of visits to the pavilion is 50,000.
