Because KAUST believes that personal fulfillment and discovery are integral aspects of a rewarding professional life, the University makes it easy for staff and faculty members to balance their professional responsibilities with other aspects of their life.
KAUST provides ample opportunities and time to keep work and life in harmony – from vacations and holidays to an inviting campus community on the shores of the Red Sea, with all the seaside amenities and recreation facilities of a fine resort. The work week at KAUST follows the normal work week for Saudi Arabia - Saturday through Wednesday. The weekend days of rest are Thursday and Friday.
The campus community environment is culturally diverse, developed and operated with sensitivity to preserving the environment and conserving scarce resources in keeping with the region’s climate. Housing for faculty and staff is available in a variety of styles.
