Vacation Allowances and Holidays

Vacation

The work week at KAUST follows the normal work week for Saudi Arabia - Saturday through Wednesday. The weekend days of rest are Thursday and Friday. Staff are eligible for 30 paid vacation days per year (holidays and scheduled days off within the vacation time are not counted against that vacation allowance). Staff will earn vacation at the rate of 2.5 days per month, equal to 30 days each calendar year.

Faculty and staff are also eligible for repatriate travel allowance for home country visits after one year of service with KAUST. Once a year, the University will provide fully paid air travel for faculty and staff members and their eligible dependents, back to their point of origin.

Holidays

In addition to the vacation allowance, the University will publish an annual schedule of holidays.
